Feb 23 – The Verge: Google is bringing ARCore out of beta and launching Lens search on more phones – ARCore 1.0 launches on all Google Pixel phones, all recent Samsung flagship phones, the Android O version of LG’s V30 and V30 Plus, the Asus ZenFone AR, and the OnePlus 5.

Feb 23 – TechCrunch: Microsoft and Xiaomi to collaborate on AI, cloud computing and hardware – The two companies announced a Strategic Framework Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work more closely in the areas of cloud computing, AI (including Microsoft’s Cortana business) and hardware.

Feb 21 – ZDNet: AMD debuts embedded EPYC and Ryzen processors – These parts expand these chips into diverse areas such as casino and arcade gaming, thin client, 5G cellular, medical imaging, IoT gateways, and router.

Feb 21 – TechCrunch: Qualcomm shares details on its vision for the near-future of mobile VR – The big highlights here of the Snapdragon 845 reference headset are room-scale positional tracking via a pair of onboard cameras, eye-tracking and 2K per eye resolution displays. Performance bumps (30 percent faster graphics) also mean greater power efficiency (another 30 percent increase).
